John C. Rudolf  Chairman, Portfolio Manager
John is Chairman and Portfolio Manager of Summit Capital Management and Summit Special Situations Fund, LP and Co-Portfolio Manager of Summit World Partners Fund, LP. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and attended the Columbia University Graduate School under the Herbert Lehman Doctoral Fellowship. John began his investment career in New York City in 1974, joining Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. in 1975. As a partner of Oppenheimer & Co., he moved to Seattle in 1988 as partner in charge of the firm's Pacific Northwest operations. He founded Summit Capital as an independent investment advisory firm in 1996 to continue his investment management activities built and conducted over the prior two decades, including the founding of Summit Capital Partners LP in 1985. Selected community activities have included: co-chair of the Million Dollar Roundtable of the United Way of King County, board member of the United Way of King County, board member and past chair of the University of Notre Dame Art Museum, trustee of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, chairman and founder of the College Baseball Classic Foundation, board member of the Andean Health and Development, and advisor to the Investment Management Program at the University of Nortre Dame Business School.

Robert J. Martin  Managing Partner, Chief Investment Officer
Robert is Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Summit Capital Group LLC and Managing Member of Echelon Capital LLC the general partner of Echelon Partners, LP. His role includes Co-Portfolio Manager for the individually managed accounts at Summit Capital Management and Summit World Partners, LP, as well as Portfolio Manager for Echelon Partners LP. Rob co-founded Martin Investment Group (MIG) in 2002, a predecessor company which merged with Summit Capital in 2006. Prior to forming MIG, Rob was a Managing Director at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group (FBR), an institutional brokerage firm and investment bank located in Arlington, VA. His most recent position until departure in March 2002 was Managing Director, Senior Analyst within the Equity Research Group at FBR. He began his career at FBR in May 1995 as an associate within the Investment Banking group. Rob received his Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University in 1995 and his Bachelor of Arts from Temple University in 1993.

Matthew C. Rudolf  Partner and Portfolio Manager, Chief Operating Officer
Matthew joined Summit Capital in 1997 and is Partner and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the firm's operational, portfolio management and business affairs. His role includes Co-Portfolio Manager for the individually managed accounts as well as assists in researching private equity investments for Summit World Partners Fund, LP, Summit Special Situations Fund, LP and Echelon Partners, LP. He also serves as a member of the executive committee of Summit Capital Group. Matt was previously a vice president with U.S. Bank of Washington and managed the Large Corporate Lending Group for West One Bank of Washington before its merger with U.S. Bank. Prior to his banking career, he spent five years as a Petroleum Engineer in Texas for Occidental Petroleum Corporation. He received an M.B.A. from Seattle University in 1988 and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington in 1979.

David K. Martin  Partner, Chief Relationship Manager
David is Partner and Communications Director for Summit Capital Group LLC responsible for client relations and marketing, acting as a central point of contact in building social capital through out Summit's network of friends and clients. He also serves as a member of the executive committee of Summit Capital Group. Dave co-founded Martin Investment Group (MIG) in 2002, a predecessor company which merged with Summit Capital in 2006. Prior to forming MIG, Dave spent the early part of his career within the private client services at Wachovia, Salomon Smith Barney, and Paine Webber (UBS). He received his B.A. in Accounting from Gonzaga University in 1994.

Lisa M. Burke  Chief Compliance Officer
Lisa is Chief Compliance Officer and Operations Manager for Summit Capital Group, LLC. She oversees all compliance and operational matters for both our individually managed accounts as well as our as our three limited partnerships. She has over 20 years of experience in operations, most recently with MIG Capital Management LLC since 2003 until their merger with Summit and UBS for over 10 years prior to that. She received her B.A. in economics from Gonzaga University in 2001.

Matthew W. Santangelo  Associate
Matt is an Associate in Business Development for Summit Capital Group LLC, focusing on client contact, service and development. Prior to joining Summit Capital in February 2007, Matt spent seven years playing professional basketball throughout Europe. He received a BBA in Human Resources from Gonzaga University in 2000.

Andy J. Bloom   Associate
Andy is an Associate in Reporting. His primary role includes support of the trading and portfolio management team in daily operations. In addition he handles trading, accounting and administration for our investment partnership Echelon Partners LP. Joining Summit Capital in June 2008, he previously was with Weyerhauser for three years where he worked in the Internal Audit Department. Andy received his B.A. in Accounting from Seattle University in 2005.

Andy D. Frey   Associate
Andy is an Associate in Trading and Portfolio Management, joining Summit in May 2008. He assists with research and handles trading, accounting and administration for the firm's Special Situations Fund LP and Summit World Partners Fund LP. Prior to joining Summit, Andy was a research intern with DePrince, Race, & Zollo, Inc. where he worked on the Firm's small-cap and micro-cap portfolios. Andy received his B.A. in Economics from Willamette University in 2005 and his M.B.A. with a concentration in finance and investments from the University of Notre Dame in 2008.


Ben T. Freeburg   Associate

Ben joined Summit Capital in June 2010. Currently, Ben assists the portfolio management team of Echelon Partners, LP with data analytics and special projects. Prior to Summit Capital, Ben spent five years at BlackRock, Inc. (formerly Quellos Capital Management). While at BlackRock, Ben managed the foreign currency hedging and portable alpha swap programs associated with BlackRock's hedge fund of funds. Ben received his B.B.A. in Finance from Gonzaga University in 2001 and his M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame graduating magna cum laude in 2010.  


John V. Harkins   Associate

John is an associate in reporting and primarily focuses on operations for the Summit Special Situations Fund, LP and Summit World Partners Fund, LP. He also assists with research, trading and portfolio management. Prior to joining Summit in 2010, John worked as a certified public accountant for six years, and also spent a year volunteering for a non-profit organization in The Dominican Republic. John received a B.B.A. in Accountancy from Notre Dame, a M.S. in Accountancy from Notre Dame and an M.B.A. from the University of Washington.


Debbie Sandeno  Associate
Debbie is an Associate in Operations, assisting in all aspects of client service and daily operations, as well as administrative assistant to Rob Martin, Matt Rudolf and Dave Martin. She has over 20 years of experience in operations, most recently with MIG Capital Management LLC since 2005 until their merger with Summit and with UBS for 10 years prior to that.


Vicki Salazar  Executive Assistant
Vicki, Executive Assistant to John Rudolf, joined Summit Capital in 1998. In addition to her duties, Vicki assists with general office duties for the Summit Capital Seattle office. Her previous administrative experience was with US Bank of Washington and West One Bank of Washington.


Juliana Y. Chung Executive Assistant

Juliana, Executive Assistant to Rob Martin and Matt Rudolf, joined Summit Capital in 2010.  Her previous administrative experience was with WildTangent where she worked for 8 years.  She received her B.A. in Economics from Pepperdine University.
